Prayer

Having being told to pray on becoming a Christian, I was told to pray for all sorts of things. Without too much thought I made up lists of things to pray about - prayer for me became somewhat of a ritual, almost like the pill you might pop when your body aches, that was until I became involved with YWAM
Pray in the Spirit, we were taught and it made so much sense. Jesus went about doing what He saw the Father doing - in concert with the Holy Spirit. This is the challenge for us as our lives are often focussed on much around us, without being aware how and where God might be in our circumstance.
I read recently that “persistence in prayer doesn’t change God, it shapes us for the answer”.
That takes me to another place in understanding prayer. It makes sense as at times I have come before the Lord and what is on my mind changes.
It is true, we can know the mind of God; come, spend time in prayer, you may be surprised!
